Parets Town Hall rebuilds the Marineta sundial from a 1924 photo
The artist from Parets (Vallès Oriental) Iris Paris has reconstructed the Marineta sundial from an old photograph dating from 1924.
The reconstruction, figures the council, has had a cost of 2,700 euros. Made with the ornamental sgraffito technique, the piece has a size of 2.16 x 1.66 meters.
According to the City Council, the recovery of the watch is reliable, since the original hand had never been touched. This has allowed us to keep it in its entirety and marking the hours.
The Councilor for Cultural Heritage of Parets, Rosa Martí, has highlighted the value of cultural heritage and explained that the restoration sought to rehabilitate the clock that had been blurred during the house improvement works. It is a patrimonial question to recover and to restore this type of clocks, points the councilor.
